Cynthia has been a faculty member with the Interior Design program at Spokane Falls Community College since 1992. She currently teaches courses in residential design studio, history of furniture and interiors, textiles, introduction to interior design, professional practices, and historic preservation techniques.

Cynthia serves as an interior design consultant on a variety of commercial preservation and restoration projects for architectural and interior design firms. She also works and in conjunction with several local builders and architects on residential design. Cynthia is a certified interior designer through NCIDQ and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Mark has been a faculty member at Spokane Falls Community College since 1981. He is also a member of the Faculty Association of Community and Technical Colleges. Mark currently teaches classes in mass media, news writing, and news production and is also an instructor in the English department.

Debbie joined the Spokane Falls Community College faculty in 2010 and teaches CAD classes in the Interior Design program.

She is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification and is a member of the Interior Design Coalition of Washington and International Interior Design Association. Debbie is also works as an interior design consultant in the Spokane area.

Photography Photography
Ira joined the photography faculty at Spokane Falls Community College in 1997, teaching classes in still photography, digital media production, and documentary filmmaking. He majored in communication studies and journalism at Eastern Washington University and has pursued graduate studies in fine art, media theory, and filmmaking at Vermont College and The New School University in New York.

Ira has worked full time as a professional photographer since 1989 and was nationally certified as a commercial photographer by the Professional Photographers of America in 1995. His work emphasizes storytelling whether in words or photographs. He works with digital and film-based cameras up to 8x10.

Ira has served on the board of directors for the Professional Photographers of Washington and is currently Chair of the Northwest Region of the Society for Photographic Education. In addition to teaching, he also does freelance projects including book publishing, gallery exhibitions, and commercial photography assignments.

Carl graduated from Montana State University in 1996 and began his career as a graphic designer for a regional agency which brought him to Spokane in early 1998. He joined the graphic design faculty at Spokane Falls Community College in 2012 and in 2014 began teaching for the interior design program as well.

Carl has served as president, board member, and committee chair of the Spokane Advertising Federation and continues to be involved as an active member. He has also served as a member of the Graphic Design Advisory Committee for Spokane Falls Community College.

In his work as a senior art director, Carl led an award-winning team of graphic designers and developers working with a wide range of clients in the Spokane area. He has since extended his services as an independent designer and consultant.

Tanja is the lead and primary advisor for the Interior Design program. She joined the Spokane Falls Community College faculty in 2002 and teaches a variety of courses across the curriculum including design studios, lighting design, materials, and building systems.

Tanja is also a member of the Facilities & Grounds Committee and the Academic Consulting Leadership Team for Spokane Falls Community College.

Greg joined the photography faculty at Spokane Falls Community College in 2000. He teaches basic black and white, color, and digital photography, as well as directed studies and a visual critical thinking workshop. He holds three masters degrees and a PhD.

Greg's interest in photography began with his father who was a military photographer in WWII. Over the years, his focus has primarily been in fine arts and landscape photography. He has a passion for the history and role of photography and the area of visual critical thinking.

Recently, Greg has researched the history of Spokane photographers and helped catalog for the Eastern Washington Historical Society at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture. He has also done work in albumen printing at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York, and in wet collodion and tintype photography at Lacock Abbey in England.

Erik brings over 25 years of professional experience and a high degree of creativity and technical knowledge to the classroom. He has been a faculty member in the photography department at Spokane Falls Community College since 1998. He teaches many of the beginning and advanced application/theory and lighting classes in both studio and location environments and is involved in curriculum development for the photography program.

Erik's background is primarily in commercial advertising and catalog photography having worked for some of the top studios in the Pacific Northwest and running his own studio in Spokane. He also has a strong background in both analog and digital photographic applications and software. Outside of teaching, Erik pursues his passion for personal fine art and commissioned projects.

Erik holds an AAS degree from the photography program at Spokane Falls Community College. He continued his education at Brooks Institute where he earned a BA degree and was awarded the coveted Illustration and Advertising Departmental Award for outstanding achievement. He also earned an MFA in photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Graphic and Web Design
Greg joined the graphic design faculty at Spokane Falls Community College in 1997 and currently teaches design techniques, design process, and a variety of self-paced classes. He earned his BA and MEd from Eastern Washington University and is an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in InDesign.

Greg is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Spokane Advertising Federation. He has received awards from several design competitions including the Society of Technical Communicators Northwest, International Association of Business Communicators and Broadcast Design Association, the Spokane Advertising Federation, and Print's Regional Design Annual. He was selected as the Spokane Advertising Professional (Ad Pro) of the year in 2010.

A graduate of the Graphic Design program at Spokane Falls Community College, Alicia has a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington, and a master's degree in Teaching Visual Arts from Eastern Washington University.

Alicia began working in the field of graphic design in 2006 and joined the faculty at Spokane Falls Community College in 2014. She has experience working at an advertising agency and as a freelance designer and has been teaching art and design courses since 2012. She continues to do freelance design, and practices traditional and modern art mediums.
