Spokane Falls Community College
Journalism Program

Our journalism program teaches students to write effectively, enhances their research and interviewing skills, and develops their critical thinking skills. The program also increases student understanding of the media and its impact on their lives and perceptions about society.

The Communicator, SFCC's student newspaper, provides opportunities for students to do the writing, editing, photography and layout involved in publishing a newspaper. The staff sees the production process through from beginning to end, gaining valuable experience for professional opportunities, acquiring skills that can be used in a variety of areas. Students may register in College News courses for 1 to 5 credits.
