A great outdoor game new to almost all Americans. This sports game combines aspects of rugby, soccer, football, and even a little bit of volleyball. A great team game, no one individual can dominate and everyone gets involved. No need to be able to throw spirals. Lots of fun for all skill levels. |
| BABYSITTER TRAINING |
Today more and more young people are taking babysitting jobs. As most babysitters know, you can run into some uncomfortable situations when you are babysitting. This course prepares youth for a babysitting job and provides the skills every parent wants in a babysitter including safety, basic childcare, safe play, first aid and critical emergency action skills. This course is offered to youth 11-13. |

Do you have aspirations for achieving academic excellence in high school and beyond? Learn some good study techniques and learning strategies to give your scholastic accomplishments a boost. Academic scholars and school counselors will present 'tried and true' approaches to assist students to achieve academic excellence and effective ways to identify and mitigate obstacles along the way. |

Come learn to play bridge! Learn the basics of playing, bidding and Bridge etiquette. Enjoy social camaraderie, have fun and experience the excitement of a challenging and competitive game. No previous experience necessary to play this fun and interactive card game. |

| COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES |
Join us on some exciting and educational two-hour tours to experience Spokane's outstanding community and public service organizations. Learn all about their facilities, services and how they affect the quality of life for our community citizens. Learn how you can be get involved to make a difference to enhance the level of service available from these community service agencies. Specific tours will be determined based on the selected community agencies' current activities. Planned tours include: Fairchild Air Force Base; Spokane Police Department; Spokane Fire Department; Cowles Museum / Fox Theater; and the Second Harvest Food Bank. |

This exciting course will explore the popular computer gaming industry. The focus will be on the benefits of using computer games as an educational tool and understand how gaming has a clear educational value and purpose for many gamers. The course will take an in-depth look at some of the most popular Nintendo’s Playstation-3 and Sony’s Wii games, explain the different gaming platforms, how games are rated by users and the gaming industry. This computer gaming class will also explore the rapid growth of the gaming industry, how computer games are created and how the industry in developing into professional careers for computer game enthusiasts.

| EARLY DROP-OFF/LATE PICK-UP AREA |
An Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up area has been designated for working parents who need to drop off their children between 7:30 -8:30 AM and/or pick them up between 4:30 -5:30PM. Camp participants WILL NOT be permitted to remain in the this area beyond the early morning drop-off and/or late afternoon pick-up times without paying a fee. Parents who utilize this free service are required to provide proper identification and personally sign their children in/out. If your child is to be picked up by someone other than the parent or going home with another student, you must send a signed consent note with your child. |

Some say you are what you eat. Learn all about the effects of SLEEP, EXERCISE, and NUTRITION and how to improve and/or preserve your current health condition. Participants will better understand healthy diet habits and knowing how to calculate the impact of various diets in our fast-food world. |
| HORSEBACK RIDING |
Learn to saddle, mount, dismount, walk and trot a horse. Also, learn horse care and grooming. Class is held at Busy Bee Riding Stables and travel time is included. Children must bring a bicycle helmet to wear when horseback riding. If your child is enrolled in the 10:30 AM horseback riding class, he/she should bring a sack lunch to eat in the bus on the return trip to SFCC. Children may not wear sandals or shorts while horseback riding. Meet in Bldg. 24, Rm. 104 to be transported to Busy Bee. |

| ROUND-UP AREA |
The Round-up Area has been established during regular scheduled class hours for students who are not enrolled in a Youth College class. For the safety of Youth College students, they are not allowed out on the campus grounds if they are not registered in a class. The Round-up Area provides a safe supervised place with activities for children to stay when they are not enrolled in a class and an area for early pick up by parents. The area is located in Building 24, Room 104. This area must be utilized if the student is not registered in consecutive classes. Students may not stay in the Round-up Area more than one hour at a time or more than two hours per day. No food is allowed in the Roundup Area. Please have your child eat lunch in the cafeteria. There is a charge of $9 per hour/class item for this area. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE. For information, call 533-3140. |

A combination activity and physiology class, participants will participate in a number of activities to determine their fitness levels (muscular strength and endurance, aerobic fitness, flexibility, and optional body composition) involving running, stepping, walking, curl- ups, etc. There will also be some skills testing for agility, vertical jump, etc. In addition, students will learn about how different activities and nutrition affect performance and the body. |
