Boy in Archery class

Youth College is a selection of courses designed especially for students between the ages of 9-13. There are three Monday-Thursday sessions held at Spokane Falls Community College. To register please complete the online registration form, print and fax or mail.

Courses vary in length from one to three hours and beginning and ending times have been coordinated to allow registration in a variety of activities. Most of the activities can be repeated if the student wants to gain more knowledge or skill in a particular area. Activities are designed to stimulate an interest in a variety of subjects. Space in all classes is limited. No grades or credits are given. Questions? For information, call 533-3140.

Early Drop-off/Late Pick-up

An Early Drop-off/Late Pick-up area, located in Building 24, Room 104, has been designed for working parents who need to drop off their children from 7:30-8:30 AM and/or pick them up between 4:30–5:30 PM. For the safety of your child, no child may be dropped off prior to 7:30 AM. Your child must be picked up promptly by 5:30 PM. This service is provided free of charge; however, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE.

  • Parents utilizing this service in the morning and/or afternoon are required to provide proper identification, and personally sign their children in/out.
  • Children will not be released to anyone other than a parent or guardian without prior written/signed approval from parent.
  • A $10.00 fee is charged for pickup after 5:30 PM. No child is allowed to return to the program until fees are paid.
  • No food is allowed in this area.

Round-up Area

The Round-up Area, located in Building 24, Room 104, has been established during regularly scheduled class hours for students who are not enrolled in consecutive Youth College classes. For the safety of Youth College students, children are not allowed on the campus grounds when they are not registered in a class. The Round-up Area provides a safe, supervised place with activities for children when they are not in a class, and serves as an area for early pick-up by parents. There is a charge of $9.00 per hour/class item. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE.

  • Round-up Area must be utilized when the student is not registered in consecutive classes.
  • Students may not stay in the Round-up Area more than one hour at a time or more than two hours per day.
  • No food is allowed in the Roundup Area; please instruct your child to eat lunch in the cafeteria.

Students are encouraged to bring their own sack lunch or bring money to eat at the Spokane Falls Community College cafeteria.

Conduct and Discipline

Youth College is not a childcare operation and instructors and staff will refer discipline problems in the classroom or on campus to the Youth College Office. Inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Students exhibiting behavior such as hitting, doing bodily harm to another, destruction of property, name calling, etc., will be asked to leave Youth College immediately and refunds will not be given. Conflict resolution will involve the parent and the student.
