Mission

The mission the Office of Planning, Institutional Effectiveness, and Research (PIER) is to continuously build and support a culture of evidence through the provision of institutional research studies, effectiveness enhancing methodologies, and innovative strategic planning approaches to increase institutional and student performance. PIER is responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of accurate and timely information on all aspects of SFCC in support of institutional decision-making, planning, and reporting.

Purpose

The Office of Planning, Institutional Effectiveness, and Research provides information to support decision-making college wide. Activities are often undertaken in association with SFCC planning, accreditation, program review, special requests, projects, or queries. Institutional effectiveness at SFCC is a recurring process of data collection, assessment, analysis, and action in support of the College's mission and institutional purposes. Measures of institutional effectiveness are varied and comprehensive in scope. Information generated through these processes ultimately provides the College and its constituents with a fuller understanding of its success in fostering excellence in learning and provides for informed decision-making.
