Dr. Darren Pitcher joined Spokane Falls as the Vice President of Student Services on August 1, 2012, after serving in a
similar capacity at Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana since 2004.
As Vice President of Student Success and Institutional Research at Miles Community College, Darren was responsible for the
student services division, marketing, athletics and facilities.
At SFCC, Darren's focus and energy have been devoted to leading an experienced team of student services professionals.
Darren has also lent his expertise on matters regarding facilities, enrollment management, the Behavior Intervention Team
(BIT) and Title IX.
Darren has a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Community College Leadership from Fielding Graduate University
(FGU). A Master of Arts in Organizational Management from Fielding Graduate University, a Bachelor of Arts in
Organizational Communications from Montana State University-Billings and an Associate of Science degree from Miles
Community College. He served in the U.S. Air Force (1986-1990) and was assigned to the 57th Fighter Weapons Wing at Nellis
AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Pitcher is an accreditation evaluator for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, is a member of the
Washington State Student Services Commission, serves on the Executive Board for the Northwest Athletic Conference and is a
2014 graduate of Leadership Spokane.
Darren and his wife Jennifer have been married for 16 years and have three daughters; Khyrsten, Kamryn, and Liv.
