Your VA application may take 6 to 8 weeks to process. Allow yourself plenty of
time to complete these steps to getting started at SFCC:
- Decide on a specific degree or program of study.
The VA will only pay benefits for classes required for graduation.
Consult an academic counselor
with questions regarding program content and availability.
- Follow the Ten Easy Steps
for admission to SFCC, including:
- Apply for admission.
- Request transcripts from all previous schools.
- An official transcript should arrive at SFCC at least two weeks before your registration appointment.
- Transcript request postcards may be obtained from the Admissions office.
- Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended are required by the VA.
- SFCC is only allowed to report three quarters of attendance until prior transcripts are received.
- Placement Testing for math and English.
- Apply for Financial Aid.
- Contact the SFCC Veteran’s Office to receive your Montgomery G.I. Bill benefits application packet.
Bring your DD214 with you. The staff will assist you in completing your application for benefits.
