What is New Student Orientation?
New Student Orientation will give you the tools and information you need to be successful
at SFCC including:
- Advising and register for classes
- Financial Aid
- Student Services
- Clubs and Organizations
- Navigating the SFCC web site
- FYI
Who can attend the New Student Orientation?
Students without previous college experience and who have completed a placement
test may attend.
Why should I attend?
- You receive a priority registration date.
- You can confer with an adviser and register for classes.
- Orientation will familiarize you with resources available to students at SFCC.
How long does it take?
Orientation, advising, and registration requires no more than two hours.
How do I make an appointment?
- An NSEC staff member will sign you up after taking your placement test.

What should I bring?
Be prepared to register for classes. You will need:
- Your SID and PIN numbers.
- Your placement test scores.
- Your placement test folder (given to you after taking your placement test).
- Completed
class schedule plan.
- Your appointment confirmation.
