current schedule of exhibits.
The SFCC Fine Art Gallery provides an educational experience to students and the
Spokane community, by featuring exhibitions from regional, national and international
artists, working in a variety of media. Each year we provide a total of eight exhibitions.
Five of these exhibits are dedicated to emerging and established artists from around
the country, whose work ranges from traditional to non-traditional. In conjunction
with many of the exhibitions, we invite artists to lecture at SFCC and various sites
in the community, in order to provide a fuller understanding of their work. The
other three exhibits feature work by Graduating Fine Art students, Graduating Graphic
Design students, and students enrolled in Installation Workshop.
Our current exhibit features work from Matt Sellars.
Visiting Artist Lecture Series
In addition to our gallery exhibits and lectures, the "Visiting Artist Lecture
Series" invites well-known artists, critics, and/or curators from around the
world, loosely linking them by theme of a particular interest.
Our next lecture will be March 4th from Kota Ezawa.
Funding for our gallery/lecture program is provided by SFCC Associated Students,
SFCC Associated Women's Students, Art Gallery, Art Club and the Fine Arts Department.
The Sahlin Foundation and local businesses throughout the Spokane region have provided
additional funding and in-kind donations for exhibitions and lectures. All lectures
are free and open to the public.
